*Re-opening of Schuh Market Street, Manchester!

On the 25th of October I was invited down to Schuh on Market Street in Manchester – to check out their new refurbished store. If your a local to Manchester you know what the original Schuh was like they did have quite a broad range of shoes, if you thought that was good wait till you step into the store now.

On arrival, the store was popping with customers eager to shop their wide range of shoes. As soon as I walked in I knew this was going be my new spot to pick up my kicks from. There is such a great selection from trainers to boots, they have a section for kids and all the top brands from Timberland, Doc Martens to UGG.

Schuh also had legendary tattoo artist, Demon Dance providing free Dr. Martens customisation which looked insane. Not to mention their Doc Martens range itself, they have so many different pairs to choose from there is definitely something for everyone. As winter is kicking in there is no better time to purchase a pair of Docs!

Obviously I had to have a look at the trainers and see what would catch my eye. I’ve been wanting a pair of Puma style runners for the longest time, the colour-ways they have in-stock are insane. However, they are more of a summer shoe so SS20 catch your girl sporting a pair.

Another new release which caught my eye whilst I was there was the Air Force 1 Anthracite in black. I fell in love as soon as I laid my eyes on them! Sadly, they were out of my size 😦 My search didn’t stop there, because as soon as I spotted the black and white Nike Zoom 2Ks I had to try them on. When I tell you they are SO comfy, I’m not kidding it’s like they are a mattress for your feet. The decision was made, I wanted them so I got them – I cannot wait to style them.

If you haven’t already get yourself down to Schuh on Market Street, Manchester you won’t be disappointed. A huge thank you to Schuh for having me!

Celebrating Eid with Selfridges at the Trafford Centre!

I know i’ve been AWOL but I’ve been creating content for my other platforms etc. However your girl is back. I thought I’d share with you what I got up to at Selfridges to prepare for Eid.

I got invited down to the Trafford Centre to visit the Beauty Insiders at Selfridges & Co. The beauty insiders counter is a concession where you can book yourself a treatment with a beauty brand whether that’s make up or skincare and get a 1 to 1 session.

I chose to get my make-up done, the lovely Leah introduced me to the new Natasha Denona Pallete and can I just say what a beautiful pallete it is. I opted for an orange smokey eye, and I was obsessed with the look Leah created. The beauty insiders counter is mazing if you want that intimate 1 on 1 session with a beauty expert.

I then headed up to the food hall, where I picked up some food from Ping Pan Asian. I love trying new foods and the garlic chicken and rice I’d totally recommend. There are so many choices, as well as it being halal. You can check them out on Instagram at: @ping_panasian and on Twitter at: @PPanasian

I filmed a little vlog of my day preparing for Eid so if you want to see what I got up to do go give it a watch.

I hope you enjoyed this post.

Swap fast fashion for sustainable style | The Bee Thrive

Around 2 weeks ago I got invited down to The Whiskey Jar in the Northern Quater. This was to mark the start of Fashion Revolution week, and honour the six-year anniversary of the Rana Plaza disaster in Bangladesh which killed 1,134 people in the country’s worst industrial disaster.

The Bee Thrive a Manchester-based ethical and sustainable fashion brand hosted the event, where you could swap your fast fashion tees for its sustainable organic T-shirts. The event was booming with passionate individuals about the fashion industry. I was enlightened by so much information, it’s something we don’t think about consciously and I really think we should.

It was insightful to listen to the founder of the Bee Thrive Gemma Gratton and how her business idea came about as well as understanding the idea that every little change we make to our purchases and our wardrobes were helping a lot more than we think.

The event was also showcasing other brands such as Fabric for freedom which are a sustainable fashion brand who had their collection available – we honestly fell in love with some of the pieces.

The Bee Thrive also did a cat walk with pieces available in their new collection and can I just say I was obsessed with the jumpsuit. The pieces in the collection are so versatile and will live forever in your wardrobe for sure. SO do check the Bee Thrive by clicking here.

We also heard other stories on people who changed their lifestyle by not using plastic, it was crazy to hear  how easy it is. For example, by not buying a water bottle from Sainsburys and just using a reusable water bottle.

Jake Shoes store launch party in Altrincham

A couple of weeks ago I was invited down to the new Jake Shoes store in Altrincham. As you know me I can’t turn anything down revolving shoes. Jake Shoes has stores in Stockport and Manchester Arndale and now Altrincham and this is just the start because I’m sure you’ll soon be seeing the store everywhere. It is located in the town centre near JD Sports (you can’t miss it).

It has shoes for all ages from kids, to adults and styles from boots to flats and walking shoes. The store has such a lovely aesthetic, from all the different colours and textures it looks so good together.

The event was such good fun there was an arcade machine which you could win a variety of prizes from – it was great! There was so many familiar faces, so it was nice to catch up with some local bloggers too. Also to get a feel for the store and look around the latest shoes – I mean heaven right? As well as their being snack and drinks what a fab way to spend an evening. Thank you to the team at Jake Shoes and also Alice for a great event.

*JD Sports Store Opening at Manchester Arndale!

If you’re a regular shopper around Manchester you’ll know that the JD sports store has been closed for a while and it re-opened this Saturday and the opening weekend has been spectacular. The store is located in the Manchester Arndale the store is now back and bigger than ever.

I went down on Saturday afternoon for the opening of the store and I mean if you were in the Arndale you couldn’t miss it. The store opening consisted of some of the best street dancers Kieran Lai, Shadow Seifiroth and Curtis Butler, who put on an amazing performance! There was also competitions going on to win tickets to some of the best shows and gigs as well as winning trainers for a year.

The store itself as I’ve mention has the largest variety. From womenswear it now has brands like Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger in-store it has so many brands for kids and menswear like its unreal how much choice there is. Ofcourse the trainer section is my favourite, as usual JD are killing the game with the new releases from Nike with the vapourmax and the Nike air max 97s.

Do head down to see the latest releases this undisputed Christmas, as well as the new store I assure you, you won’t be disappointed!

Thank you JD for letting me head down to see the new store and see the hottest kicks and a fab event overall.

Getting creative with Reeves X Foundation Coffee House

Last Friday I was invited down to the Foundation Coffee House in Manchester. Reeves were hosting an arts and crafts event to showcase their rebrand of art products.

On entrance I was greeted by the lovely ladies from Reeves who introduced me to the new range and showed me illustrations by Elliot who was present at the event too! I’ve got to say he’s so talented! The postcards and flip books are SO imaginative!

Whilst we grabbed a coffee and some free pizza.. YES free pizza! I got to meet the lovely Asma & Steph, then we painted our plants and postcards and chatted about all things blogger as you do!

It was lovely to see so many people from the public also coming and getting creative. It’s just so good to wind down after a long week, and with painting it was so relaxing.

The new Reeves collection contains literally everything you’d need to create art, from brushes of all sizes and purposes. To acrylic and water colour paints of every colour. To then sketchpads and sketching pencils. You can check it all out here and grab what you need!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post! What’s your favourite way to wind down after a long week? Comment below.

Michael Kors X Jourdan Dunn Launch Event #MKxJourdanDunn

Last Wednesday myself and a couple of other Manchester bloggers got invited down to Intu Trafford Centre, as Selfridges hosted an event for the launch of Jourdan Dunn’s collection of bags and accessories with Michael Kors.

We were greeted by the lovely event staff once we got there. I’ve got to say I fell in love with the set up of the event. The DJ was Lilah Parsons and oh my is she talented and ever so beautiful!!

We got to see the collection, which ranges from the Rhea backpacks to clutches and even a polaroid camera (which I need ASAP). My favourite colour bag had to be the baby pink one as I think you could style it with so many outfits!! The baby pink is super neutral an would be versatile to pair with both dark and light colour of an outfit.

Once we’d chatted about all thing accessories and discussed what was our favourites, we had a chance to go shoot a 3D boomerang in the little photo booth which was SO fun I’ve got to say that’s the coolest photo booth I’ve been in. Being VIPs at the event we got a selfie pass to meet the lady herself at the event that night Jourdan Dunn! She’s super lovely and even prettier in reality!

We got a selfie and even a cute boomerang (check my Twitter @KiranAlix)! I mean you can’t go wrong going to a blogger event and having a catch up with some of your favourite bloggers.

What are your thoughts on the #MKxJourdanDunn collection? Comment below.

The Tatler beauty awards 2017 in partnership with Selfridges & Co!

As exam season is commencing I thought I’d publish an exciting post before I hide in my books for a little while but I won’t be too long because once these exams are over I’ll be blog focused and I cannot wait.

On Wednesday beauty editors from Tatler, Francesca White and Jennifer George hosted a Q&A event at The Selfridges in The Trafford Centre. As they partnered up and published a article on The Tatler Beauty Awards in partnership with Selfriges in the May issue of Tatler.

On arrival I was greeted by the lovely Rose Gallagher and met blogger Clare from iliketweet, it was lovely to meet her finally after following her for so long. We then got a front row seat together whilst we waited for the event to commence (then having that typical the first time you meet a blogger chat).

As the seats started to fill up we sat back and got introduced to Francesca White and Jennifer George. They then started talking about some of their favourite products they’d included in the issue from the La Mer The Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation SPF20 which melts in like a dream to the Chanel Rouge Coco Gloss described as on-sticky and full of pigment.

Then onto one of my favourite topics skincare they revealed the top products which consisted of the The Rose Stem Cell Mask by Peter Thomas Roth to one of my all time favourites the Kiehls Midnight Recovery Cleansing Oil.

Whilst getting offered delicious canapes to Champagne and lemonade the beauty talks didn’t stop it continued with holy grail skincare routines to how to keep your skin hydrated in a warm climate. It was lovely to get tips off the professionals and recommendations for our specific skin types on beauty and skincare.

To get an insight to other products which made the beauty awards check out Tatler magazine and their latest issue.
