As I promised I’d do another post for you with Vapiano Manchester, however this is slightly different to the previous one. Vapiano are introducing a diet plan, as they teamed up with Dr Sarah Shenker a Registered Dietitian and Nutritionist. This diet plan will enhance runners diets for the Great Manchester Run. Sarah states  ‘It’s important to balance your carbohydrate intake with plenty of protein. The delicious pasta dishes from Vapiano can be a big part of your fitness plan whether you’re a runner, cyclist, body builder or partake in any regular sport.

The Great Manchester Run is creeping up on us as its on Sunday 22nd May 2016. This is a good time period for runners to test the diet plan as training for a longer distance race like a half or full marathon, you will need to maximize your glycogen stores by eating plenty of carbohydrate foods 2-3 days before the big day. Vapiano is perfect for this as Pasta Pomodoro is said to top up carbohydrate (glycogen) stores. The meal eaten the night before is crucial in delivering the last top up of glycogen. Also, Rucola ravioli which glycogen stores will be depleted so carbohydrate from pasta is important to help muscles recover. There is plenty of whey protein from the ricotta which delivers special amino acids that are effective in helping to repair the muscles and prevent muscle soreness.

Vapiano is a great restaurant to go to, primarily as there is a variety of dishes to add to your carbohydrate load as this is essential. A variety of pasta dishes are available made fresh for you whilst you watch the magic happen!

After snow sun and rain in one day I feel like I’ve been around the world. What a hectic day its been but I’m so glad it’s the weekend. Today I’ve got a post that I’ve never done but I’m so excited to share this with you guys.

About a fortnight ago me and my dad took a trip into Manchester around 12pm for lunch. Luckily we got invited by Vapiano which is located in the Corn Exchange, and it was totally an honour to attend. If you didn’t already know Vapiano is an Italian restaurant, for me I couldn’t have been happier as I live off pasta and pizza!

Pasta, pizzas, antipasti and salads can be ordered directly from the chefs at the individual stations in the middle of the Vapiano restaurant.  The chefs prepare all of the dishes to order in front of the guests and you can have the meal tailored exactly to your needs! On arrival you are given a Vapiano card where everything you eat or drink is added which is used to pay at the end of your meal.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was too loud and not even quiet it was perfect to catch up with whoever your meal was with it felt so open and relaxed which is always a bonus to enjoying your meal. The decor was one of my favourite aspects, as this was simple but the simplicity of it just added another sophisticated yet calm vibe!

Onto the food, for a starter we ordered brushetta served with olives [ciabatta bread, marinated tomatoes, garlic, basil and olive oil] because who doesn’t love it? Plus its so tasty to start the meal of with. Then for my main I couldn’t decide between pasta or pizza as I love the both as equally but in the end I went for the tonno pizza [tuna, red onions, tomato sauce and mozzarella]. This was such a lovely tasting pizza as I could taste the flavours compared to a normal pizza. Then finally for desert I decided to go for bacio [chocolate and hazelnut with biscuit base]. This was in the cutest little jar topped with a strawberry, I couldn’t get over how cute it looked I didn’t want to dive in! But when I did I wasn’t disappointed it was such a delicious desert. Not to also mention how good the pineapple juice is like seriously its like happiness in a bottle. I had no words.

I’m definitely taking my friends here soon! I love it!! The excitement of being able to choose where to sit on the laid back wooden stools or the comfy chairs in the corner its all such a good experience its like being on a journey and watching the friendly chefs make your food is so fascinating. I will be doing a post real soon on the #EatPastaRunFaster campaign so keep an eye out!
